Ordering a Standard or Advanced Version License |
To run WinLTP Acquisition in the Standard Mode (including everything except automated perfusion) requires users to purchase a Standard Version License. To run WinLTP Acquisition in the Advanced Mode (everything including automated perfusion) requires users to purchase an Advanced Version License. These Standard and Advanced Version License Keys are sold by WinLTP Ltd., in agreement with The University of Bristol.
Running WinLTP Reanalysis also continues to be free. However, due to a drastic decrease in external funding WinLTP Ltd. no longer distributes a free Basic Version. It seems reasonable that the researchers that actually use WinLTP also help support its development.
When WinLTP is initially run, there is a Demotrial Period of 60 days in which all the Advanced Mode funtions (including automated perfusion) can be freely used. After the Demotrial Period runs out, WinLTP can be run (for test purposes), but the data files will no longer be saved.
The cost of the Standard Version license is £700 GBP or $1050 USD for the first copy, and £500 or $750 for all additional copies. The cost of the Advanced Version License Key £1000 or $1500 for the first copy, and £750 or $1125 for all additional copies.
Please note that the extra £200 or $300 for the first copy is for each order. So if two orders were placed, the first for 1 Standard copy and the second order for 2 Standard copies, the total cost would be £700 + (£700 + £500) = £1900, not £1700. If both Standard and Advanced Versions are purchased at the same time, the £200 or $300 extra cost for the first copy will only be added to the Standard copy.
The copy protection license key is now a hardware USB dongle. This Dongle Security Key is included in the price. Its shipping is also usually incuded in the price except for a surcharge of £40 ($60 USD) for DHL shipping to those countries with inefficient internal mail service.
